Fir Tree Farm

Preserving England's Traditions

Here at the farm, on The Norfolk/Suffolk border in the village of Weybread, on the B1116 twixt Harleston and Fressingfield, we keep select poultry, rare breed sheep and pigs.  All of the livestock are unfettered and enjoy complete freedom to wander around the farm.

It is the qualtity of life they enjoy, together with a regular diet of natural feed and fresh water, that produces the finest eggs and meat.

Once you have tasted new laid,  farm fresh eggs from our breeds, you will never want Supermarket brands again.

"Black Rocks"
A free-range layer producing lovely mid-brown eggs
"Calder Rangers"
The typical Farm-Yard Hen, producing excellent quality free range eggs.
"Light Sussex"
An Old English rare breed with delightful colouring, producing a creamy brown egg.
"Welsummer"
The original "Kellogs Corn Flakes" Rooster, Prince Charles raises them too !
Eggs like they used to be ! A Flower-pot red brown in a matt finish.
"Black Leghorn"
Often mistaken for a Black Minorca the Black Leghorn has bright red Comb, Face and Wattles.
The plumage is a rich glossy black and ear lobes are white.
Eggs are white.
  "Buff Orpington"
A large fowl, brown egg layers. The size and soft,  fluffy appearance together with their rich colour and gentle contours make them attractive birds.
"Rhode Island Red"
We've called him Reg. (Rhode Island Reg) ! Currently the pride of the fleet and don't the others know it !
"Speckledy"
A dependable layer with a great temperament. She fosters and adopts any orphans and outcasts as her own.
Naturally, in addition to the pure breeds, we do get the "mixed race" chicks too. It's great fun guessing who the sire and the dame were !
